All the antique furniture sold by the friendly proprietor comes from the Beijing and Tianjin areas of northern China. These 18th and 19th century sturdy cabinets were designed in simple block styles, usually without any carving, and are just polished to retain their natural state. They come in various types of wood, including the Ming imperial wood huanghauli, the late Qing imperial wood zitan, blackwood and elm.
