There are more than 1,000 species in the Garden planted in such a way as to achieve natural beauty. Most of them are indigenous to tropical and sub-tropical regions. At present, about half of the Garden's land is dedicated to the keeping of zoological exhibits. About 500 birds, 70 mammals and 70 reptiles are being housed in about 40 enclosures.
